Pat McFadden is now in his second year in Keir Starmer's Cabinet 2025, heading into 2026. He's jumped horse to become the Work and Pensions Secretary, but what of the Child Maintenance Service (CMS) that is almost totally dysfunctional? How much is owed by delinquent parents, especially fathers, to the single parent families they have created? It is obvious that most CMS workers are not in fact working, but languishing at home, as alleged.

We'd suggest giving Reform UK a shot. At least that way we'd have new blood, not old dogs that cannot learn new tricks.

How much worse will it get before triggering a general election. We are not spending enough on our military, to fend off Vladimir Putin's wolfhounds and Xi Jinping's expansion into Taiwan. We are heading into a World War Three situation, with almost no nuclear submarines fully functioning. And immigration out of control. We are fine with genuine refugees, but not the wholesale importation of freeloaders, looking to settle in the holiday camp that, firstly, the Conservatives, and now Labour, have allowed the UK to become.

Before running for Parliament, he worked as a researcher for Donald Dewar, a Scottish Labour MP, and as a speechwriter for the former Labour leader John Smith. He was also an adviser to Tony Blair, both in opposition and later in Downing Street.

McFadden returned to the government following Labour's victory in the 2024 general election, and was appointed Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster by Starmer in his ministry.
